Dia de Los Muertos was started in Mexico thousands of years ago. It was celebrated by the Aztecs and Toltecs in July or August, but when the Spaniards colonized Mexico, they combined this traditional Aztec celebration with the Catholic church calendar and changed it to the 1st and 2nd of November. This year in Spanish 2 we studied Dia de Los Muertos because Suzy really wanted us to know the dark history and not just know it for barbies or the movie Coco. During this unit we made an Obituario and I made mine dedicated to my great grandma, along with that we made a La Calavera which is a skull (usually human) that is used for decoration during the Day of the Dead, and along with it I wrote a poem as seen below.
Immigrant project
The purpose of this project was to work on past tense more specifically imperfecto and pretérito And to also connect where my family came from. I decided to write about my mom, and I actually learned quite a bit about home my mom came here and how my dad went to Africa.

The reason for this project was to practice commands
I think I did a good job on this project even though I didn't end up making the food. I feel as though it has enhanced my commands and conjugation
