Lewis is an up and coming baker who focuses on Muffins and Pancakes and sells them at a special bakery event. There are three constraints located below.
Constraints:
- Time: Up to 12 hours of bake time
Pancake take 15 min
- Money:up to 40 dollars on ingredients
- Space:room for 78 baked goods
Pricing: (Given a 300% markup)
- Muffins sell for $7.72 per muffin batch
- Pancakes sell for 10.1 per pancake batch
Question: To optimize Baker Bills profit, how many of each kind should he make?
Solution
Step 1:Organize info using a table
Step 1:Organize info using a table
Step 2:Convert into inequalities
Step 3:profit equation:
Step 4: Graph Feasible Region and Identify possible solutions (x is muffins, y is pancakes)
- Time:30x+15y≤360
- Money: 1.93m+2.53≤40
- Space:x+y≤78
Step 3:profit equation:
Step 4: Graph Feasible Region and Identify possible solutions (x is muffins, y is pancakes)
Step 5:Find the best profit for solutions
Lewis the baker should make 6.62 muffins and 10.76 pancakes for a total profit of 119.77
