Reflection
Some skills that I had prior to link were good people skills which is something that helped me a lot to further build relationships with these people outside of this internship. An example of me using some people skiIls is when I went to Miki Harters home studio seeing as though I had just met her but still was able to have conversations with her and learn about her.The most important skills I gained over link are definitely my overall communication ability, seeing as though texting and keeping in connection with people has always been something I have been bad at. This improvement could be seen throughout the whole internship especially with the get fused owners Adam and Nicole who I kept good contact with the whole internship, whether it was asking clarifying questions or just asking about the glass art I made. During my link internship the biggest challenge I faced was at Get Fused when Adam and nicole were not able to work with me on the very last day, and the solution that me and my mentor Jenifer came up with was me going and making jewelry with her for my mom. This experience has helped me plan for the next steps of both college and career because I worked with artists such as Chandler who went to art school and she told me about certain things art colleges look for like self portraits and she also discussed the importance of a portfolio and getting your name out there. I also worked for Cindy who specializes in marketing and painting, and I learned a lot about the business side of art and actually selling your art.
